Answer

What changed in ISO 27014 edition 3?

No public clause change is recorded. The ISO page for edition 3 carries the same abstract and the same 13-page count as the page for the 2020 edition, and both name the same four processes and audiences. The clause text is not public, so this site does not claim an unseen change. When the text is available, the record is refreshed and the diff is sent.

What the record shows

The public record shows the edition number, the stage history and the abstract. The abstract on the edition 3 page describes concepts, objectives and processes for governing information security, by which organizations evaluate, direct, monitor and communicate. It names the governing body and top management, the people responsible for an ISO/IEC 27001 management system and the people managing security outside one. The 2020 page says the same.

What the record does not show

A clause addition, a renumbering, a changed definition or a new annex. The site could guess from the edition number or from committee commentary, and it will not. A wrong clause change in a paid reference is worse than a stated gap, so the gap is stated.

What to do about it

Build the record against the published edition. When the FDIS or the published text appears, compare the clause list with the register, record the differences and update the citation. The watch emails the change when it happens.

Why the site is still useful

Because the governance work is the same under either edition. The role map, the six objectives, the four processes and the board reporting are durable, and the published edition already sets them out.

Questions

Is the 2020 edition withdrawn?

No. It is recorded as to be revised, and it remains the published edition in force until edition 3 is published.

Will there be a national annex?

Possibly, in some markets. National adoption can add a foreword or an annex. The site names the ISO and ITU sources and does not claim a national variation it has not seen.

Can I rely on the clause numbers?

They are the 2020 clause numbers. The site says so and does not claim an edition 3 renumbering. When the new text appears, the numbers are checked and updated.

THE RULES THIS IS BUILT FROM

Read from the real rules, not invented

Every clause answer on this site points to the official rule behind it, so you can check any line yourself. The register holds 28 records, 110 evidence lines and 84 common failure lines. The dates come from the ISO record. The substance comes from the published 2020 edition, which is the baseline that edition 3 replaces.

ONE STAGE RECORD

No invented date

Stage 50.60 is recorded on 12 August 2026. The planning date is an estimate and is labelled wherever it appears.

Read the record

The edition 3 text is not public and is not reproduced. Each record cites the published clause it comes from. Where the public record is silent, the page says so.
